Why We Play It Forward
Sports have given our founder, Anthony “Tony” Martinez, confidence, resilience, and a team that feels like family. Recognizing that other kids don’t always have the same support, he started Play It Forward, Kern to help remove the financial barriers that keep children on the sidelines. His goal is to give more kids the opportunity to play, belong, and learn lessons that last beyond the game.
Every Kid Deserves a Chance to Play
Play It Forward, Kern helps children in Kern County participate in organized sports by removing financial barriers to registration, equipment, and essential gear. Together, we can give more kids the opportunity to belong, build confidence, and thrive.
More Than a Game
We help Kern County youth get in the game by providing support for registration fees, uniforms, footwear, and essential equipment. Every opportunity to play is a chance to build confidence, learn resilience, and find belonging through a team.
